Aristotle University of Thessaloniki - Special Account for Research Funds - Department of Veterinary Medicine

The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH, https://www.auth.gr/) is the largest university in Greece and is widely recognized as a vibrant center of academic and research achievements. It comprises 10 faculties which consist of 40 schools and 1 single-School Faculty. About 73,930 students study at the Aristotle University, while there are 2,024 faculty members. In the last few years AUTH has collaborated with 1,700 partners (Universities, Research Centers and Companies) in nearly 3,500 Research Projects, with an overall budget of 150 million euros.

The School of Veterinary Medicine of AUTH (http://www.vet.auth.gr/) was founded in 1950 and, since then, it has offered 3,943 BA degrees in Veterinary Medicine and 342 PhD degrees. The School of Veterinary Medicine is included in the list of approved EU veterinary medical institutions drawn by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE); it is the only School in Greece which has been positively evaluated by external-independent evaluators. The School of Veterinary Medicine has got wide experience in coordination and participation in international cooperation projects, especially concerning animal health and genetic improvement, economic performance of livestock farms and farm management.
