Slaughterhouse Municipality of Strymona S.A. Regional and Local Authorities

SFADIS is a slaughterhouse owned by the Municipality of Emmanouil Pappa. It was last renovated in 1999 and is the single municipal slaughterhouse in operation in the Region of Serres. Main products processed are sheep and goats and waste is segregated into high-risk (spleens, bowel segments and skuls) and other waste (by-products, tail, ears, blood). Waste is kept in cool storage and shipped weekly to a processing company in Kastoria for 15-16KEUR annually.
