Sep 10, 2019

The 4th Health District of Macedonia and Thrace and the project Heart Safe Cities actively participate at the 84th Thessaloniki International Fair, particularly within the pavilion No. 15 of the Ministry of Health.

The grand opening of the pavilion of the Ministry of Health were performed by the Minister of Health Mr. Vasilis Kikilias, on Saturday 7 September 2019. The Minister was guided through the stands of the fair and received information about, inter alia, the actions of the 4th HDMT and the project Heart Safe Cities.

Every day, hundreds -even thousands- of visitors of the pavilion  show particular interest on the Demonstration of Basic Life Support techniques (BLS). Instructors, certified by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) demonstrate to the visitors the techniques of Basicl Life Support and use of Automated External Defibrilator on specialised manikins, in a program designed for citizens.

Until the end of the Fair, the visitors will have the chance to perform the techniques on the manikins, guided by the certified instructors, as well as to receive information for the cross-border project Heart Safe Cities. Those who are interested can apply for free-of-charge participation on the official BLS seminars which are programmed on a regular basis in Thessaloniki until 2020, in the framework of Heart Safe Cities project implementation. Course language is Greek.
