The main objective of the project is the implementation of a series of actions that will promote the significance of energy efficiency in both public and private space as an indicative factor of environmental policy for local authorities of the cross border area. The promotion will take place by promoting the significance of locality in the protection of environment and its contribution of the local/national/european policies.

The involvement of the notion of “locality” in the energy consumption field will reform the character of the energy problem from the global scale to the scale of our neighborhood; “our public square, our school, our shop, our home” will be the center of attention of the whole project by promoting energy efficiency as a whole, in public and private spaces.

The main objective of the project is to highlight the importance of the energy efficiency as a factor of the protection of the environment, in two axis; 1st: Public spaces, 2nd: Private spaces.
Each axis is supported with the following outputs that improve the energy efficiency factor of the cross border area, with the decrease of GHG (in precise tons of CO2/year) and decrease of annual consumption (in KWh/year):

1.a Energy efficiency upgrade in 3 schools; one in the village Kariotissas in Pella, one in the village Neos Milotopos in Pella and one in Negotino
1.b Energy efficiency upgrade in a municipal building in Negotino
1.c Energy efficiency upgrade in the public space of Negotino with the impovement of the public lights
1.d Research for the energy efficiency upgrade of a public space in Giannitsa.

2.a One cross border round table for environmental policy in Pella,
2.b Seven info days for the local population with emphasis on the private buildings energy consumption
2.c Two schools' competition for the energy efficiency in private buildings and its relation to the protection of the environment
2.d The establishment of the Energy Efficiency award in local enterprises (private sector)
2.e Organization of three info events for school students
